Army bivvy bags (also known as bivi bags) are waterproof sleeping bag covers, and they are a bit bigger (about the size of a 1 man tent). They are usually made from breathable materials such as Gore-Tex and they pack down to a very small and convenient size. The name bivvy bag comes from the term 'bivouac' which is a temporary shelter. The bivvy totally functional and has great quality hard wearing material. 

It is a simple design with a zip at the top and zip mosquiot net, there are no snap closures or fastenings, no velcro to get clogged up with fluff! You get in through the wide opening top, and you are all set for a dry night in your choice of outdoor setting.

The Army bivvy is made from material called MVP (Moisture Vapour Permeable), which is a waterproof and breathable membrane—like Gore-Tex®. This is designed to keep you and your sleeping bag dry if your sleeping area is damp or has dew about. Once you have tried sleeping out under the stars - Nothing else compares!
