An upgraded piston is generally necessary and recommended if you wish to upgrade an AEG for higher velocity or higher rate of fire. Piston head allows for the outward transition of air from the cylinder to air nozzle. Pistons and piston head are usually the first to go in a stock gun after extended use because of its plastic construction.
