Ammunition boots or “ammo” boots were adopted by the British Army during the Victorian period and had quite the long service and was replaced in the 1960's. Ammo boots were ankle-high lace-up boots, made with pebble-grained leather uppers and hobnailed leather soles.
these particular boots and seen some use and have of late been used in re-enactments
